Touch Screen Technology

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dd4NCxoT6Vw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

There's already a lot of touch screen technology in the world but I don't think there's anything as good as this.  This technology will make it easier to create ideas on a touch screen in front of you, and then send it to your phone, and then send it to another person's phone by just holding them close together and sliding it over.  Creating ideas on the screen will be a lot easier this way along with sending it to coworkers.

SAP Distribution Game

My team actually came in last in the Distribution game.  Our goal was to make the most sales, so we were lowering the prices a lot so people would buy our products.  The problem was that we eventually had our prices below the cost it was to make the products so we were spending more than we were making.  In the end our products sold out because everyone wanted to buy products for cheap, which was what we were offering.  So while we made a lot of sales we didn't make profit because our product cost more to produce than what we sold it for.  In the final round of the game we completely switched our strategy and chose to start with prices high and gradually lower them until the products were selling.  We found that this wasn't a good strategy either because since our prices started out so high no one wanted to buy our products, so we made very little sales but with a high price.  I think prices are the most important to look at when selling a product because you have to find the in between price that isn't so high that no one will buy your product, but not so low that you completely run out and lose money by having your product being sold for less than what it cost.  The sales strategy is also very important because if you don't have a strategy you don't have a good way of selling your product.  Our team needed to find a good in between price to start out with so we could make a profit.  I think I definitely learned that a good strategy would be most effective in selling a product along with good communication.

Employer's Rights

I always thought that employers shouldn't snoop around their employees' facebooks, but after reading this article I found that there can be exceptions.  Apple clearly stated that that they have rules against saying negative comments about their company so they don't get a bad reputation.  I think if a company clearly says not to put their company down in social media, then you shouldn't.  I agree with their decision on firing the employee, but for other companies that don't clearly say not to bad mouth their company shouldn't be looking all over the internet to find out who is.

Decision Making Software

I never realized how much decision making software I actually use.  I use Google all the time just to find out where a location is or information about a restaurant.  I recently used Google to find Halloween costume ideas and what was most popular and what the prices were.  I use weather.com everyday before I go to class to see what I should be wearing to class and if I should be bringing a sweatshirt or not.  I also use Gullnet and MyClasses all the time to find out what work I need to do.  When using Gullnet to make a schedule for the next semester, I use Rate my Professor to figure out which teacher I want to take.  Using decision making software helps me everyday without me even knowing it.

Plagiarism in College

I am surprised to see that the following website said that more college students cheated more on writing assignments than on an online site.  I think it would be easier to cheat with an online source since you can just copy and paste the sentences you want to use without your teacher seeing it.  Some students could also be using their phones in class to help them cheat on a test.  Technology makes it easy for students to cheat but it is also plays a role in helping to prevent plagiarism.  Salisbury University has done a good job in avoiding plagiarism by having students upload their essays on Safe Assign.  This enables teachers to see if a student copied something word for word from a web site.

Technology in America

Technology has the greatest and worst impact on education for children in schools in America.  Teachers from older generations are not used to the technological advances that schools are constantly making, therefore they are constantly falling behind.  Teachers never actually get the chance to settle down with one type of technology because right when they get settled, the technology is advances without them.  Technology can obviously also make children lazy because technology makes everything easier for them.

Technology in Classes

Technology is a very useful tool to use in classes.  MyClasses alone informs students on the assignments they have to do.  We always find out what our blog topic is by looking in MyClasses.  I also have online quizzes in MyClasses for my other classes, along with practice problems or notes from class that are very helpful when studying for tests.  Email is another amazing way to communicate with teachers when I'm having a problem with something.  I also use a clicker in my Physics class to answer quick questions or problems the teacher gives us.  If a lot of students get a question wrong, the teacher can look at the answers everyone puts and know that the topic is something they need to explain.  I think clickers are a great idea because a lot of students are shy and don't like to raise their hand a lot so the clickers give them a way to participate.
